This project sprung out of research I did on the effects and consequences for people living with ADHD and how they work around and deal with the chaos that they sometimes experience.

Some research points towards a feeling of relief and calmness when sitting higher up in a room. Sitting above the fellow humans and the hectic world below brings an overview and a sensation of being in control. “No one can watch me or judge me”.

I created this chair with the aim of providing a secure place where the user can have an overlook of the environment, feeling as they have control over the situation. By adding the sheets with puncholes to the steps, I can use the empty space underneath the chair as a storage and display surface.
